The Indian School of Mines University, established in 1926, which offers B.Tech in Computer Science & Engg, Electrical, Electronics, Environmental Science & Engg., Mechanical, Mineral, Mining, Mining Machinery and Petroleum Engineering, and M.Tech, MSc, MSc Tech, MPhil, MBA and Ph.D programs in the areas of Engineering, Earth Sciences, Basic & Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences  and  Management Studies, invites application from Indian nationals for the following  positions.

Qualification, Pay Scale (under revision Emoluments by GOI (Rs) and Experience & specialization required:

Professor Ph.D with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in  18400-500-22400/-                                                                       Min: 42504.00

The appropriate branch with a very good academic record    (Pre-revised)  Max: 51,774.00 through out and a minimum 10 years experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/Principal Scientific Officer/Chief Design  Engineer/Principal Research Scientist.

Specialisation required in various departments for the post of Professor.

(i) Department of Applied Chemistry:

Specialisation in Organic Chemistry preferably with some of Biochemistry background, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry & any other related areas of Applied Chemistry.

(ii) Department of Applied Geophysics:

Specialisation in Seismic, Gravity & Magnetic Methods of Geophysical Exploration, Remote Sensing Technique, Magneto Telluric Technique, Seismology, Well Logging  & any other related areas of Applied  Geophysics.

(iii) Department of Applied Physics:

Specialisation in Solid State Physics, Atomic, Molecular and Laser Physics, Thin Film Technology, Mineral Physics, Biomedical Physics, Nano Science, Fiber Optics, Energy Physics, Non-Linear Optics, Theoretical Physics & any other related areas of Applied Physics.

(iv) Department of Computer Science & Engineering:

Specialisation in : Computer Networks, Wireless communications, Neural Networks, Theory of  Computations,  Natural  Language Processing, Computer Graphics, Computer  Design, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition & Machine  Intelligence, Computer Vision, Software Engineering, Internet Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, Bio-informatics, & any other related areas of Computer Science & Engg.

Mere fulfilment of prescribed qualification & experience will not vest any right in the candidates to be called for interview.  To restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to an optimum level, Screening Committee/Selection Committee may adopt suitable criteria. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate. Legal disputes with ISMU are restricted to the jurisdiction of Dhanbad courts only.

Facilities for Faculty

l   Initial research grant upto Rs.6.0 lakhs for young faculty

l   Air fare by Economy class for joining the ISMU from abroad

l   Nomination to International Seminar once in 3 years with a grant of Rs. 1.00 lakh, and to National Seminars upto 4 per annum. Part  reimbursement of Tuition fees (for 2 children), Membership fees of National & International Professional Bodies.

l   Other allowances, Medical, HRA, Telephone Bill reimbursement up to Rs.750/- p.m.,  LTC benefits etc. as applicable to ISMU employees from time to time.

Prescribed application forms may be obtained from the office of the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), ISM University, Dhanbad -826 004 by sending a crossed demand draft of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of Registrar, ISMU,  along with a self addressed stamped (Rs.50/-) envelope of 30cmx12cm size. SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying any application fee and provision of reservation  to  SC/ST/OBC/PH will be applicable as per Government of India Rules. Candidates called for  the interview will be reimbursed to & fro railway fare limited to III AC Class by the shortest route as per rules.  Application form may also be downloaded from the institute's website http://www. ismdhanbad.ac.in/noticeboard/recruitment.htm and submitted, with fees of Rs.100/- through Demand Draft in favour of Registrar, ISMU, Dhanbad, to the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), ISM University-Dhanbad-826004.
